O Jericho

Her name is Jericho,

Her high walls speak for themselves

She’ll let no one in or no one out

Her streets are empty, no one to walk on them

Who then shall gain access the city?

Romeo bellows out his poetry

From outside the walls he declares he love

To the deaf ears of Jericho he opens up

Her streets are empty, no one to walk on them

Who then shall gain access to the city?

Proof you are authentic

A worthy citizen of the city with tales of brokenness

What will separate him from his predecessors

Her streets are empty, no one to walk on them

Who then shall gain access to the city?

There is no gate to the city

She sends no envoy to negotiate with Romeo

He knows only two that can gain access to the city

The legendary Rambo, blasting through the walls

The stealth motion of the ninja, unanounced he arrives

Loneliness shall be her company

Heart break when Rambo comes through with the bazooka

So many questions when the ninja’s gone

Romeo is gone off to Mt. Zion, with poetry the ascends high

What will be of Jericho, shall she keep her high walls so self destructive?

Russian Roulette

‘Shsshh! Quiete’ came the answer

I can hear the clock tick away

Feels like a Russian roulette survivor

With one round to go

A game without a draw

The grim reaper waits at the door

‘Shish! Quiete’ came the answer

Cross your fingers and play on

Just may be you will live to tell

Squeeze the trigger to live or die

A game without a draw

It sure feels like the Russian roulette

Lost

The pitch darkness surrounds me

Grappling in the dark for direction I am

For a sign, a noise, something to hold

Second guessing wears my soul away

Perhaps I should lean back and relax

The darkness is nothing but an illusion

I sheer moment of anxiety to pass

But my heart has another tale to narrate

Totally convinced of the oasis ahead

I am lost so lost in my own desert

With a broken compass, hunger & thirst

Caught up with an anxiety to walk on

But hesitant to move without a map

So tell me my dear, mirage or oasis?

A reality check up, food to my soul

A key I need to chatter so as to identify

The quest to become stirs on deep inside

Repairing the compass to direct my path

So to find an oasis, my soul to find peace

My Sunshine

Just like the sun in a new day,
Your light shone on me once more.
Rays of warmth mixed with a hint of fear,
Piercing through all my walls, your words in my ears.
Then I realized that you are the missing colour in my painting,
The classic sound in my song.
I watched you as you smiled.
Tonight I entered your mind,
And saw through your eyes.
Your world is a wonderland so grand,
Your soul is silver stars my love.
Just as the full moon in a dark night,
You shine on me always and always.

A New World to See

There was a new dawn in my life

Moments in celebration of a rebirth

Regeneration of an era that never became

I worked to bring my world to order

Loaded the exploration ships in anticipation

Now I stand at the docks without a course

The sailor must go to sea you know

My time is gone so the worlds I will explore

The city is no place for me no more

I fall on my knees crying out to the almighty

Nothing is new to you O great navigator

Let the wind blow my sails to the worlds

Guide your Captain so as to become

A life to live, a vision to fulfill in time’s ahead

Its dawn again, there is a new world to see

A New World

Beneath the ice surface is a world unexplored

The mammoth and her friends all immobilized

Warmth of the sun promises a coming rebirth

An embrace of tales unspoken for a time now

Shall the dry bones live again or so I ask

The mortal man is speechless, shall they?

He searches in his heart of hearts for a yeah!

To speak he must so life will be restored to these

From many words he selects a few to utter

What shall be of the ice surface he's accustomed?

His icy kingdoms must go down for a new world to be

An embrace of tales unspoken for a time now
